Denver Leeon Pettitt, 77, of Big Spring, died on Sun, Dec 11, 2011.
He was born on May 3, 1934, in Hermleigh, TX and married Patsy Gotcher on Nov 29, 1957 in Big Spring, TX. She preceded him in death on Apr 25, 1998. He then married Donna Hunter on Nov 20, 1998.
Leeon served in the US Army from 1955-57. He worked at Webb Air Force Base as the electrical supervisor. He then owned and operated Pettitt Lighting Center in Big Spring. Leeon worked for Western Texas College in Snyder as the physical plant administrator, retiring in 1996. After retiring, he drove tour busses for numerous companies and was currently employed by Lithia Motors in San Angelo as a dealer trade driver. He was a member of 14th and Main Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Pettitt of Big Spring; two daughters, Toni Pettitt of Sterling City and Tammy Burkhart and husband, Glenn of San Angelo; a step-son, Kelly Hunter and wife, Liliana of Knoxville, TN; two step-daughters, Jana Hunter of Lubbock and Jenny Parum of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Shaun Strickland and wife, Amy, Austin Clinkscales and fiance, Mallory Kennedy, Desi Clinkscales, Tayler Burkhart, Candon Pettitt, Hadley Parum, Cadence Parum and Trey Parum; one g-grandson, Gage James Nicholas; one brother, Dan Pettitt and wife, Madilyn of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Eltie Pettitt; one son, Cameron Pettitt; and by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Charles Teague.
