Hughetta Lowe Roberts, 89, of Big Spring, died Monday, February 25, 2013, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with her grandson, Pastor Gavin Reed, of Abingdon, Virginia, officiating. He will be assisted by her son-in-law, Dean Marchant and Rev. John McCullough. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at the funeral home.

She was born September 9, 1923, in Collingsworth County, Texas and married F. L. "Shorty" Roberts April 28, 1942 in Gould, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death December 3, 1995.

She graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1942.

Hughetta and Shorty moved to Big Spring in 1973 from Wellington, Texas. She served as organist at Berea Baptist Church and was employed there for over 25 years. She was a lifetime member of TOPS.

Survivors include three sons, Roland Roberts of Comanche, Neal Roberts and wife, Kay of Big Spring and Ron Roberts and wife, Debbie of Venice, California; two daughters, Alvina Marchant and husband, Dean of San Antonio and Cindy Reed and husband, Kent of Camdenton, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Josie Lowe; one sister, Peggy Squyres and one brother, Odie Lowe.
