Esperanza "Hope" Rodriguez, 82, of Big Spring died Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Lubbock.
Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born November 11, 1934 in Marfa, Texas to Mariaelena Jimenez Rubio and Felix Rubio.
She has been a resident of Big Spring since the age of five.
She married Eliazar "Charlie" Rodriguez on December 9, 1950 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2010.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a Guadalupana, a Crusillistata and member of Legion of Mary.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons: Eliazar "Charlie" Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Irene and Samuel "Sammy" Rodriguez and wife Tina, all of Big Spring; four brothers: Felix Rubio, Jr. and wife Petra of Denver, Ismael Rubio and Raul Rubio and wife Sara of Big Spring and Domingo Rubio and wife Minnie of Midland; one sister: Connie Valdez and husband Martin of Grand Prairie; 15 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Armando Rodriguez; three sisters: Elva Olague, Lilly Herrera and Viola Lopez; and two brothers: Benito Rubio and Frank "Chico" Rubio.
