*Obituary
Miriam Inez Sample, 91, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, September 25, 2010, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM, Monday, September 27, 2010 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Doyle Maynard and Shawn Gary officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 26, 2010, at the funeral home.
She was born on July 31, 1919, in Knott, Texas and married Robert Henry Sample on December 28, 1934 in Knott. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1982.
Inez was a lifelong resident of Martin County and she and her husband farmed in the Knott Community for many years. She moved to Big Spring in 1985. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Inez was a homemaker, loved her family, loved to cook and enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's activities.
She had been a longtime member of the Knott Church of Christ and was currently a member at the 14th and Main Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Joe and Bud Hughes and Jean and Richard Parker all of Knott and Kay and Ray Long of Big Spring; one brother, Donald Nichols of Knott; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtie Nichols; three brothers, Barney Nichols, Claud Nichols and Chuck Nichols; and three sisters, Kathryn Grantham, Edith Condron and Johnny Ray.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Cherokee Home for Children, P. O. Box 295, Cherokee, Texas 76832 or Foster's Home for Children, P. O. Box 978, Stephenville, Texas 76401.
