Dalton married Roberta Davis Wright on February 2, 1941. He and Roberta met at a Primitive Baptist Association meeting in 1938. After marriage in Roberta's s family home at Knott, Dalton and Roberta moved to the Wright family farm at Loop, Texas. In 1946 they welcomed the joy of their lives, their daughter, Darlene. "The Three Muskateers", as they often called themselves, had lots of fun and love throughout their daughter's growing up years. When Darlene grew up and married Larry, they said they finally had the son they had always wanted as well.

Dalton and his wife Roberta moved to the Knott community in 1948 where they farmed throughout their careers until moving to Big Spring upon retirement. They were active members of the Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church in Big Spring.

Dalton is survived by his wife of 51 years, a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Larry Chapman of Weatherford, granddaughter, Lauren Chapman of Weatherford, and granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Gayla and Erik Fernandez of Littleton, Colorado, and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Fernandez of Littleton, Colorado, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Cemetery.

Roberta Wright, age 88, of Big Spring and in recent years, Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2010, at Holland Lake Nursing Center in Weatherford, Texas. Roberta Davis Wright was born October 10, 1921, to Doyle and Ethel (Forester) Davis in the Brown Community. Ms. Wright grew up playing basketball, volleyball and tennis at Knott and Flower Grove school districts. After graduating as Salutatorian of the Flower Grove class of 1940, Roberta married Dalton Wright on February 2, 1941. She and Dalton had met at a Primitive Baptist Association meeting in 1938. After marriage in her Davis family home at Knott, she and Dalton moved to the Wright family farm at Loop, Texas. In 1946 they welcomed the joy of their lives, their daughter, Darlene. "The Three Muskateers", as they often called themselves, had lots of fun and love throughout their daughter's growing up years. When Darlene grew up and married Larry, they said they finally had the son they had always wanted as well.

Roberta and Dalton moved to the Knott community in 1948 where they farmed throughout their careers until moving to Big Spring upon retirement. They were active members of the Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church in Big Spring. Ms. Wright was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years in 1992.

In 2005 Ms. Wright moved to Weatherford, Texas to live near her daughter and family. She made many friends and enriched the lives of many during her last years. On her 87th birthday several family members, and current and former caregivers from her assisted living facility came to pay tribute and to tell her what an encouragement she had been to them, and how she had helped them make significant, positive changes in their lives by her loving talks with them and her care and concern for each person she met.

Roberta loved the Lord, her church, her family, and friends. She enjoyed getting her hair done, dressing up, pretty flowers, good laughter and cooking, and the Dallas Mavericks.

Roberta Wright was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Ethel Davis, her husband, Dalton Wright, and a brother, Howard Davis. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Larry Chapman of Weatherford, sister, Adele Fleming of Big Spring, brother and sister-in-law Travis and Joyce Davis of Marlin, granddaughter, Lauren Chapman of Weatherford, and granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Gayla and Erik Fernandez of Littleton, Colorado, and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Fernandez of Littleton, Colorado, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A special thanks is extended for the loving care Ms. Wright received by the staff at Holland Lake Nursing Center, especially to Dr. Welch, medical director, and to Alpha Omega Hospice who assisted in making her last days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

Funeral services will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring on Monday, April 26, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
