White, Wavie O., 91, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, January 11, 2001, in a local nursing home.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2001, at Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Wanda Hill, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Coahoma, officiating.
She was born on November 5, 1909 in Jefferson County, Oklahoma and married Calvin A. White, Sr. on January 9,1928 in Marshall, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1995.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Philathea Sunday School Class.
Mrs. White came to Big Spring with her family in March of 1924 and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1926.
She worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company for 26 years in El Paso and returned to Big Spring in 1971.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Barbara June White of Sweetwater; two granddaughters, Barbara Stocksberry and husband Rommy of Alpine and Janet Bettis and husband Steve of Hobbs, New Mexico; three great-grandsons, Brian Duncan of Dallas, Brent Duncan of Batesville, Arkansas and Bradley Duncan of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Big Spring; one brother, Bill Coleman of Big Spring; four nephews, Charles Lane Johnson of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Kenneth C. Johnson of Mineral Wells and Bill Coleman and Bobby Coleman both of Big Spring and one niece, Kay Trupp Finnerty of Aurora, Colorado.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Calvin A. White, Jr. on May 31, 2000.
