Elroy Brown of Mason passed away on Tuesday June 22, 2010 at the age of 73. Elroy was born in Mason on November 1, 1936 to C.L. and Annie Brown. He married Sarah Atchley.

Elroy could build anything from kitchen cabinets to stepping stones. He enjoyed hunting, golf, fishing and hunting for arrowheads. For many years Elroy would take time off of work to work as a camp cook at a local hunting camp.. Mr. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mason as well as a member of the Mason Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Sarah Brown, son Randall "Bo" Brown of Mason and his wife Suzan Dawn, daughter Sherry Gail Tatsch of Mason, brothers Milton Ray Brown of Mason, Layton Larry Brown of Mason and Richard Daniel Brown and his wife Nita of Mason, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be on Thursday June 24, a procession will leave Mason Funeral Home at 9:30 am to a 10:00 am graveside service at Grit Cemetery with Pastor Ray Ash officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Mason Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Logan Shane Tatsch, Kelby Brook Brown, Tyson Ross Brown, Tanner Frederick Brown, John Conager Parker and Clyde Martin. Memorial may be made to the Mason Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or the Mason Volunteer Fire Department.

Sarah May Brown, of Mason, passed away at her home on Friday, July 18, at the age of 73. Sarah was born in Mason on November 19, 1940 to John David Atchley and Ivy May Martin Atchley. She was a life-long resident of Mason County. Sarah married Elroy Brown on May 12, 1956 and their marriage was blessed with two children. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sarah was "an encourager of goodness till her very last day"! She worked hard, but always had a smile. Sarah was a waitress for many years and was loved for her friendliness and good nature. She had a servant's heart and it showed in her work. In her spare time she loved to go fishing and play card games and board games with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Sherry Tatsch, a son Randall "Bo" Brown and wife Suzan, a sister Nita Brown and husband Richard all of Mason, 6 grandchildren: Kelby, Ty and Tanner Brown, Logan Tatsch and wife Kellie, John Parker and wife Jenny, Jordanna Tatsch and Luke Airheart, 9 great-grandchildren and two brothers-in-law Milton Brown and Layton Brown both of Mason. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Elroy.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be on Monday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m. at the Grit Cemetery with Chaplain Pam Traver leading the service.
