Carl Robert Keith, 78, of Brady, surrounded by loved ones went peacefully to his heavenly home on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, in Fredericksburg.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in Brady.
Carl Robert Keith was born in Mason, Texas, to his parents, Jasper William Keith and Beulah (Tuckness) Keith on Jan. 25, 1939.
When he graduated from high school, he joined the United States Army.
He then attended college at Angelo State University.
He worked with his family in the trucking industry, owning and driving dump trucks. His good friend, George Keller from Mason hired him in 1969 to work for McCulloch County Farm Bureau, making him the first insurance agent and agency manager in McCulloch County. He continued his career with Farm Bureau and became a District Sales Manager in 1991. After a career spanning over 34 years and many accolades, he retired in 2003.
He married the love of his life, Skipper, in Mason in 1961. Together they had two children.
Carl and Skipper moved to Brady after they married in 1961.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed his time with his family, friends and grandchildren. He loved traveling, going to Vegas, was a master gardener, but above all else, he loved making his rounds to visit family and friends.
Surviving Carl include his favorite daughter, Karen Jacoby and husband Willie (favorite son-in-law), of Dallas; his number one son, Chad Keith and wife Connie "Annette" (favorite daughter-in-law) of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Billie Garner of Brady, and Virginia Ince of Brady; and baby brother Shane Keith of Mason. Also surviving are his granddaughters, Jacie Elizabeth Keith, Kristen Ja'Nae Keith and Raquel Perez.
Preceding him in death include his wife, Skipper Keith; three brothers, Jasper Keith, Jackie Keith and Robin Keith; and his parents, Jasper William Keith and Beulah (Tuckness) Keith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg or to the charity of your choice
