Inez Lillian Turlington, 92, of Big Spring departed this life at 8:15 PM Thursday, July 20, 2006, at her home.
She was born in Seiling, Okla., on Nov. 14, 1913, to James and Jenny Bell Duke. She grew up on a farm and attended school in Seiling.
She moved from Seiling later in life to Monahans to be near her children from a previous marriage. There she met and married Carroll Turlington. They resided in Monahans for five years, then moved to Hobbs, N.M. They lived there for 10 years and were members of Belair Baptist Church. She served as a volunteer at the hospital in Hobbs.
In 1974, Carroll was transferred to Big Spring. Inez made her home here until the Lord took her to her final home. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Inez was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was known as Me Maw to all the grands.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vinita; three sisters, Pansy, Fern, and Violet; and a brother, Ivan.
Inez is survived by her husband, Carroll Turlington of Big Spring; a son, Elvin Kimball and wife, Betty, of Brownwood; granddaughters, Mayla Spence of Sherman and Lynda Walker of Big Spring; grandsons, Terry Duncan of Snyder and Bruce Kimball of Ingleside; Bobby Neil Kimball of Jal, N.M., and Barry Kimball of Littlefield; 14 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marie Duke of Seiling, Okla.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
