*Obituary Twyla Marie Murray Stroup
Twyla Marie Stroup, 90, of Big Spring, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 in a local nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Bro. Rick Wilson, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
Twyla was born August 30, 1926 in Glenwood, Washington and married R. M. Stroup in 1943 in Corvallis, Oregon. He was in the military and brought her to Big Spring in 1945. He preceded her in death September 14, 2001.
Twyla worked for many years for the EP Driver Insurance Agency.
She was a faithful member of Baptist Temple.
She is survived by one daughter, Lou Ann Zappia and husband, Tony of Brocton, New York; a daughter-in-law, Betty Stroup of Melbourne, Florida; five grandchildren, Henry Stroup and wife, Alicia of Bedford, Loren Stroup and wife, Jen of Melbourne, Florida, Ana Hinkle and husband, Bart of Valdez, Alaska, Angela Stambaugh and husband, Shawn of, Dover, Pennsylvania, and Nicole Zappia of Brocton, New York; seven great grandchildren; extended O'Neal and Murray families in Washington, Oregon, and northern California; many nieces and nephews across Texas, including a nephew, Wayne Stroup and wife, Janice of Lubbock .
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, R.M.(Manning) Stroup, Jr., and Mac Murray Stroup; her parents, Raymond Edward and Ethel Marie (O'Neal) Murray; one brother, Loren Murray; and one sister, Audrey Murray.
