Inez Grant Shivers, 89, passed away on her birthday, Friday, Dec. 19, 2014.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Howard County, Texas to Mollie and Emmitt Crittenden.
She married Jim C. Grant Jan. 25, 1941. Jim preceded her in death and she later married Howard L. Shivers. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Inez lived most of her life in Big Spring. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Celia and Johnie Williams, Linda Davidson and Sue and Chuck Carey; her sister, Dot Gay and husband Dale; three brothers, twins George Crittenden and wife Nita and James Crittenden and Don Crittenden; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma Shaffer, Eunice Winn and Charlene Shipp; and her brothers, Curtis, Eugene, Robert and Morris Crittenden; and a great-grandson.
The family suggests memorials to any charity that benefits veterans or to a favorite charity.
