Graveside services for Clara Onetta Hightower, 92, of Lamesa will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Onetta passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 in Lamesa.

She was born on February 1, 1921 in Big Spring to Gilbert and Mary Jane (McReynolds) Milstead. Onetta married Earl V. Hightower on March 22, 1947 in Lamesa. He preceded her in death in 1979; they were married for 32 years. Onetta was a farmer, rancher, and homemaker. She enjoyed hauling cotton trailers and sewing clothes for her children. She found joy in her family and cherished the time spent with them. Onetta was a member at First Baptist Church.

Onetta is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alvis Milstead; and sisters, Margaret Woosley, and Mary Kathryn Roundtree. The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, 801 S. 1st St., Lamesa, TX, 79331 or a charity of your choice.
