Memorial services for Mary Pearl Bearden Johnson, 88, of Lamesa will be 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8, at North 14th Church of Christ. A visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Branon Funeral Home. She passed away Feb. 3, 2010.
Mary Pearl was born in Dawson County on Aug. 21, 1921 to Mr. & Mrs. O.R. Bearden. She graduated from Lamesa High School and Abilene Christian University. A dedicated educator, she taught school for Dawson, Hereford and Lamesa ISDs.
She was married for 37 years to Clarence Early (Joe) Johnson; he preceded her in death in 1985.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Raper of Houston and Janie Lyn Elliott of San Antonio; sons-in-law, Trent Elliott and Ron Raper; grandchildren, Samantha Elliott and Charles Raper; and a brother, Roy Bearden and his family.
