Catherine "Cat" Mayberry Henry Carter

Catherine Mayberry Henry Carter, Cat, was born on September 13, 1952, to Shadrach and Ethelmae Mayberry. She was the sixth of seven children born to Mr. And Mrs. Mayberry in Coupland Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pear Valley Baptist Church. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Robert James Henry on July 29, 1969. She became a mother on February 17, 1970, and graduated from Taylor High School in May of 1972. There were 3 children born to the couple and they were both very happy parents. Catherine was gifted in singing and interior design; she sang in the choir at First Baptist Church in Taylor, Texas on Sundays for many years and she did volunteer work as a stylist and interior designer for the church. Catherine Mayberry Henry Carter, worked for Austin State School and Austin State Hospital for many years and later earned a certificate in business from Austin Community College and was the owner and operator of a small minority business that supplied goods and services to the State of Texas for many years. Catherine’s most important and enjoyable role in life was that of being a mother. She absolutely enjoyed it and was excellent at being a mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed being around her loved ones and her entire family. Catherine Mayberry Henry Carter, was preceded in death by her late husband Robert James Henry, eldest daughter Valencia Henry, and 5 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters Athela Henry of Pflugerville Texas, Kathy Thomas of Phenix City Alabama, Son-in-Law Donnie Thomas of Phenix Alabama, grandson Stephon High of Phenix City, Alabama, granddaughter Katelyn Thomas of Phenix City, Alabama, brother Darrell Mayberry of Austin, Texas, Uncle Nathaniel Davis of Taylor, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
