Leona B. Morgan, 87, (born Leona Lula Burns) passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010, in Austin, Texas. She was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, on July 17, 1923, the daughter of the late A. Curtis and Julia (Aulency) Burns.
Leona worked several years at the Hazel-Atlas Glass plant in Washington, Pennsylvania, until they closed in 1959. Years later, she helped as a volunteer at The Senior Pioneer Square in Oregon City, Oregon, where she served meals to the elderly and really enjoyed their company and friendships.
She is the beloved mother of Julia Pendergraft and husband, Don, and cherished sister of Helen (Don) Wonsettler and Kenneth Burns. Leona has four grandchildren (Kelly, Kim, Aaron, and adopted Michael) and four great grandchildren (Jessica, Brittany, Zach, and Cody) that also survive her.
Leona was preceded in death by her children, Barbara Ross and William Kinnan; siblings: Wilbert, Amos, Robert and Haven Burns, Eleanor Work and Jean Ferrel; and one grandson, Kevin.
Her ashes will be scattered over loved ones at the Park Lawn Memorial Park in Bell Gardens, California.
