In 1991, she accepted to sail out of New-Orleans with a couple of friends to Cuba as a galley Chef. She was travelling with her cat Gato. The boat took a last stop on an Island of Yucatan, Mexico, Isla Mujeres.

She decided to stay and lived nearly 3 years, perfecting her Spanish skills, doing photography jobs for the local tourist industry.

In February 1994, she fell for a passing international Musician, Patrick Rodriguez AKA Anda Loup.

A 10 months season 0f bliss…

They made their way back to Texas and married in Rockwall on May the first 1995.

They resided in Big D since.

She worked for the Dallas Museum of Art as a grant writer. She raised millions of dollars.

She was one of the consultants for city-wide celebrations of New Mundo organized by the office of Cultural affairs in 2000.

She spent many years working with ESL communities. She was unanimously recognized as a fabulous teacher in community colleges.

In 2006, Rebecca was given a chance to participate as a consultant, grant writer and exhibitions organizer for a non-profit group, Collaborating Artists Media Project.

Corporations such as Pierson Foundation, Smithsonian Museum, Adobe, Nokia, were her sources of abundant funding.

No ceremonies will be conducted. Her desire was to be cremated and her ashes will be dispersed in the waters of Miami by her husband and grandson Zack Smith.
