Marjorie Williams Allen, age 85 of Laurinburg, NC passed away at her Guardian Angels personal care home in Richardson, Texas, on Monday, May 6, 2019.

Marjorie was born November 11, 1933, one of eleven children of Joseph Allen Williams and Elsie Mishoe Williams. Marjorie enjoyed a full life as a homemaker and also served tirelessly with her husband in pastorates in Raeford, Gilkey, Wadesboro, Icard, and Asheville, NC. She was a licensed minister in the Church of God (Cleveland) and a sought-after revival speaker. She especially enjoyed teaching her adult Sunday School class, singing in ensembles and the choir, and serving home-cooked meals made from scratch.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Jody Simmons McLaughlin; brothers Billy F. Williams and Jackie Lynn Williams, and sister, Doris Peele.

Marjorie leaves behind, in her immediate family, her husband, Daniel Allen; son, Daniel Allen Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lainie Acridge Allen; two granddaughters, Brittany Allen Hannon and Jillian Patrice Allen, who reside in Portland, Oregon; three great grandsons – Owen, Graham, and Henry.

In her extended family she leaves behind brothers, Joseph A. Williams, Jr., of Ocala, FL, and Edward G. Williams (Levon) of McColl, SC; sisters, Mary E. Williams (Weldon), Mildred W. Walters both of Laurel Hill, NC, Barbara Shoemake of Wagram, NC, Brenda Clark (Tommy) of Laurel Hill, NC, Elsie Granville (Blanchard) of Pinehurst, NC; brother-in-law, Paul Peele of Fayetteville, NC and sister-in-law, Ann Williams of France; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Biltmore Church of God in Asheville, NC. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1pm. Pastor Dale Whitson, of the Biltmore Church of God, will host and officiate. Marjorie’s nephew, Pastor David Shoemake of the Springfield Church of God in Laurel Hill, will also participate, along with Marjorie’s daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lainie Allen.

Memorial donations may be given in Marjorie’s memory to the Church of God Ministry to Israel at: https://ministrytoisrael.com. Click on Donate, then look for the designation for “Memorial Gift” from drop down menu. Alternatively, checks may be made payable to and sent to Ministry to Israel, PO Box 4431, Cleveland TN 37320. Indicate that it is in memory of Sister Allen, and it will be processed accordingly.
