*Obituary
Alan Stanley Edwards was born March 25, 1951 in Springfield, Mass. and passed away after a brief illness on July 10, 2019 at his home in Richardson, Texas. All who knew him best, could tell you that he loved life, his family, his Lord, volunteering, and all New England/Boston sports teams – especially the Red Sox!

Alan is survived by his wife of 34 years, Debbie Louise Keeton Edwards of Richardson; his children, Josh Harris (Amber), Megan Edwards Horton (Trevor) and Jim Edwards (Beth) and 4 grandchildren, Jordan and Judson Harris, Ellie Horton, and Phillip James (PJ) Edwards; his brother –in-law, Paul Provost; his nephew Tony Provost and his wife Chelsea; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents A. Stanley and Nancy Edwards and his sister Susan Provost.

Alan spent his childhood in Agawam, Massachusetts, graduated from Agawam High School, and received degrees from American International College and Western New England University. He was an Eagle Scout and as an adult participated in Circle Ten Council. He loved art, drama and writing. Alan was usually seen with a camera around his neck and a smile on his face! During the last 5 years; his retirement time consisted of planning and participating in events and volunteering. He spent his “work days” at Pathway to Victory, serving on committees, ushering for events, and growing in his knowledge of God. Alan loved his family! He attended and photographed events, got down on the floor and chased the children, drew pictures, made silly faces, explored nature, and traveled. When Alan was around you never needed a book to explain the history of the area!

Alan and Debbie took their “trip of a lifetime” to Israel in 2014. Alan stated that he is looking forward to returning again – to the New Jerusalem with his Lord!
