A LIFE WELL LIVED
Barbara (Dick) Sanderson,91, passed away April 3, 2024. She loved the Lord. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was a kind soul, helping many along the way. She lived a life of purpose, and that was to serve the Lord, and others. She was a member of Loop Church of Christ for many years.
Barbara attended Abilene Christian University and got her bachelor's degree, then went on to Sul Ross University and received her master's in education. She was a schoolteacher in Andrews schools for 21 years, there she helped many students achieve their potential. After retirement as a teacher, she owned a furniture store and successfully operated it for many years. She married the love of her life, Neil Sanderson in Lamesa in 1992, and was happily married for 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Dick, daughter-in-law Tangie Sanderson, and her husband Neil Sanderson.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lynda Giles, grandsons Aaron and Brett Giles, great grandchildren Austen, Landon, Kahala, Travis, and Jake along with great great grandchildren Easton and Mila. She adored her "Grandkids", she had a special " Friendship" with Flo Braly.
Barbara loved singing church songs, watching old western movies, and Little House on the Prairie, and when she was unable to attend church, she watched "TV Church". She loved daily car rides to see her town, and to talk to people. She liked getting a coke to "Bust Up" as she would say. She was so loving, and always encouraged you to do better, and "Be the Change".
Visitation will be held at the Ratliff Funeral Home of Seagraves on Friday, April 5,2024 from 8A.M. to 8 P.M.
A funeral service will be held at Loop Church of Christ on April 6,2024 at 10:00 A.M. with interment in the Loop Cemetery.
