She was a current member of First Baptist Church Rockwall and a devoted member of the Servant’s Heart Sunday School class. She was baptized at FBC Commerce when she and David were first married. She used her gift of attention to detail and administration to keep the financial books for some of the churches where she and David served.

From that time, her faith grew as she was the hands and feet of Jesus. Together Sandra and David served in several ministries over the next 43 years, among them Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, Eastview Baptist Church (Mission from Shiloh Terrace,) FBC Sunnyvale, Community Life Church, Second Baptist and FBC Rockwall. She was involved in the nursery and children’s programs at various churches.

Her children said she was many things to many people. Some of her roles include wife, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, friend, aunt, cousin, neighbor, mentor, teacher and granddaughter.

Words they used to describe her include determined, strong, clever, creative, stubborn, resourceful, crafty, gentle, patient, intentional, frugal, practical, thoughtful, detailed, servant, hard worker, tough, provider, generous, caretaker, loving, loyal and sacrificial.

Some of Sandra’s hobbies included gardening, knitting, crocheting and teaching her granddaughters to make pot holders and to knit. She also enjoyed biking, sewing, working outside and making her famous pizza for her grandkids.
