Sylvia Trevino Cullender, age 64, of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 7, 2011. She was born on January 21, 1947, in Alice, Texas, to Gus and Minnie Trevino.
Sylvia met the love of her life, Mike Cullender, in 1991, and they were married on May 5, 1995, in Maui, Hawaii. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary?s High School in Oklahoma City, and enjoyed a 33-year career with AT&T. She and Mike retired in 1999, and they built their dream home in the Hill Country in 2001. They traveled extensively, to Switzerland, Spain, Canada, the Caribbean, and throughout the U.S., and especially enjoyed visiting their dear friends near Seattle. Many of these trips have included golf, and they have enjoyed playing on many beautiful courses and meeting lots of friendly fellow golfers along the way. Sylvia and Mike have been blessed with many wonderful friends, especially in their neighborhood and in the Lakeway Country Club golf community.
Sylvia will be remembered for her grace, generosity, friendliness, morality, sense of humor, and beautiful smile. Her favorite roles in life were as the love of Mike's life, mentor and steadfast supporter of her nephew Jason, and doting Aunt Sylvia to her beautiful grandnieces, Blythe and Lotus.
Sylvia is survived by her loving husband Mike, Mike's son Jay Cullender and his wife Doka, of Austin, her brother Gus Trevino of Garland, her sister Nelda Martinez and family of Alice, her nephew Jason and his daughters Blythe and Lotus of Garland, and her niece Bianca Trevino and her son Darian of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
