Gloria Ann Butler Wilson, 75 of San Marcos, Texas died November 27, 2011. She was born February 17, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas
Gloria lived in San Marcos for the past twenty years. She is survived by her sons Robert Wilson of Alice, TX and Daniel Wilson of Kyle, TX; daughters Linda Coker and Kimberly Campbell both of San Marcos, TX; son in law Gary Campbell of San Marcos, TX; she is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Jack Wilson.
Gloria worked as a hotel/motel manager for 32 years before retiring in 2001. She managed hotels in San Marcos, Austin, San Antonio, Laredo, Texarkana, and Wharton. Both her and her husband Jack worked for La Quinta Hotels for several years.
Gloria has been in several organizations including; San Marcos Hotel/ Motel Association, San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, Act IV Drama Club, Lubbock Community Theatre, Catholic Daughters of America. Several years she was elected ?Catholic Daughter of the Year? in Lubbock and in 1968 she was listed as one of the ?Outstanding Young Women of America.? She was very active in her church, St. Elizabeth?s in Lubbock having served on the Parish Board, taught catechism and served as chairman of several events held by the church.
