Margaret Portillo Bachicha was born on February 17, 1934 in El Paso, Texas. She was 79 years old when she passed away peacefully at her home in the afternoon of March 24, 2013. Margaret married Joe Bachicha on August 31, 1952, one year after graduating from High School. Margaret was an amazing woman who always spoke her mind. She spent her early years as a beautician but then she dedicated her life to rearing her children. She was a caretaker for many and asked for little in return. Her zest for life was evident in her sense of humor and her style. All you had to do was ask and she would give more than you ever expected. She went back to college and graduated in 1993 with a degree in Education from the University of Texas of El Paso. She spent many years teaching elementary school. She loved her profession and worked until she became ill. She spent many years working as a Girl Scout leader. She was always busy building birdhouses, knitting blankets, planting flowers, or making something as she was highly creative. She loved being active in the Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Joe Bachicha, 3 daughters and son-in-laws, Joella Bachicha, Margaret and Robert Bachicha, Lisa and James Caramanica. Her grandchildren include Angelo, Nick, Danielle, Genesis, Samantha, and Jack. Her great grandson is Bradley. She was loved during her lifetime by many and will be greatly missed. May she find comfort in the arms of our great Lord Jesus.
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.-- KJV, 23rd Psalm
