Dax Johnson was born on October 18, 1972, in Novato, California to James R. Johnson and Janice M. Johnson. Dax attended Bowie High School, and later Attended Austin Community College.
Dax was believed to have accepted Christ as his Savior in the past year, and we believed he truly loved the Lord.
Until recently, Dax was employed by Travis County Health and Human Services Dept. as an Office Support Assistant. During the tenure of his employment he served dutifully, always willing to help others, was a dependable team player, and really loved his job. In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with his relatives, many friends, and enjoyed all that life had to offer. He genuinely loved people and loved to laugh. He was friendly, loving, supportive, kind, generous and a wonderful person to know.
Dax was truly a blessing to every life he touched. Dax departed this life on or about July 3, 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Devon Rooks, Killeen TX, Jaylen Elkins, Poteet, TX; his mother, Janice Johnson-Simcox (Larry) Pflugerville, TX and his father, James R. Johnson (Ruby), Georgetown, TX. Dax is also survived by his brother, Calvin D. Johnson; four uncles Charles D. Johnson (Joyce) of Olympia Fields, Illinois, Robert W. Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, John H. Ford of Newark, NJ, Roosevelt Ford of Lumpkin, GA; five aunts, Dorothy Jewell Gibson (Nathaniel), Vivian Marie Avery (David), Charlotte Johnson, all of Springfield, Illinois and Vicki J. Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Verneta Brown (Earl) of Morrow, GA. He is also survived by 2 Nieces, 1 Nephew, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends
Memorial services celebrating Dax's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2211 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Austin, Texas 78702
