*Obituary

Joyce Ann Juhnke was born to Leo and Nevalee Seegers on May 3, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed away at Seton Williamson Medical Center, Round Rock, Texas at the age of 71, on March 8, 2019 with her family surrounding her.

Joyce graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1965. She went to Career Beauty School and became a sought-after hair dresser in the St Louis area. She married Roger Popovac on February 3, 1968. Together they had three children. Through her husband’s work they lived in different states and settled in Austin, Texas in 1986. Joyce then became a sales representative for Richardson-Vicks, a division of Procter & Gamble. She retired from Procter & Gamble in 2009. They divorced while living in Austin and she moved to Cedar Park. She fell in love with Merle Juhnke and they were married on January 10, 1998 in Burnet, Texas. They purchased property and renovated a house that was on the property. She enthusiastically designed her dream kitchen and big front porch with advice from her Dad who she greatly admired.

Joyce loved everyone, especially little kids, and had a very high energy level which she used to volunteer at La Care Food Bank, tutoring, head start, helping at the community kitchen and working in the kitchen at Epiphany Episcopal Church. She was active in the Christian Women of Burnet. She loved living in the country, working outside in her gardens and loved that she could go on her front porch in her pajamas and no one could see.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Merle Juhnke; her daughters, Rochelle Morgan, Amy Hinson (Bud) and son, Mark Popovac (Lauren); her stepson, Todd Juhnke; and also by her sisters, Rosella Herman of St Louis, Mary Baugher (Dan) of Chesterfield Missouri, and a brother Jerry Seegers ( Helen) of St. Louis. Eight grandchildren called her Grandma Juice and she had one great grandchild, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Nevalee Seegers and her step-daughter, Robin Juhnke.

A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Burnet, Texas on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10 o’clock am. A private entombment will be held later at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in the Hill Country Cremation Garden.
