April 17, 1941-October 18, 2024
*Obituary
Memorial services for Elizabeth Klassen, age 83 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Community Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Klassen officiating. Family will hold a private burial at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Klassen was born April 17, 1941 in Mexico to Helena (Fehr) and Bernhard Wiebe. She married David Klassen on September 1, 1968 in Canada. She had lived in Seminole since 1978, moving from California, and was a member of Community Church. Elizabeth's life was all about family. She loved to cook and was known for her enchiladas. She liked having company and was always kind to strangers; she literally got along with everyone and there was no one who didn't like her. Her sisters said even as children they always got along with no arguing or fighting.
Elizabeth and her husband were truly best friends. One of their favorite activities was sitting on the swing, talking and singing. On Sunday afternoons she enjoyed driving with her husband through the countryside, always checking out the pecan orchards. Their love was evident to all who knew them. At church she was active in the food ministry, as well as a quilting group.
Elizabeth Klassen passed away at Odessa Regional Medical Center on October 18, 2024. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Lois; one grandson, Nolan; two brothers, Henry and Ben; and three sisters, Tina, Mary, and Helen. She is survived by her husband, David of Seminole; five sons, David Klassen and wife Teresa of College Station, Texas, Benjamin Klassen and wife Sara of Seminole, Henry Klassen and wife Nancy of Seminole, Pete Klassen and wife Anna of Wellman, Texas, and Rudy Klassen and wife Nancy of Seminole; one daughter, Helena Gibson of Seminole; one brother, Jake Wiebe and wife Pam of Canada; three sisters, Susan Krahn and husband George, Sara Peters and husband Dave, and Ann Tennant and husband Jim, all of Canada; 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
