Clarksville Times, Wednesday, January 28, 1987, Pg 7- Ruth Eddins- Irv ing- Ruth Eddins, 81, of Irving, a native of Red River County, died Saturday, January 24 at Irving Community Hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, at the First United Methodist Church of Irving with graveside services following at the Warthan Cemetery in Avery at 4 p.m. The Rev. Ed Blythe, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Irving officiated at both services. Donnely's Colonial Funeral Home of Irving had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Eddins was born on Dec. 23, 1905, in Avery. She had been a resident of Irving for the past 28 years. She was a retired schoolteacher having served for 25 years with the Irving Independent School District. She had also taught in Avery. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Irving. Survivors include two brothers, Dean Warthan of New Boston and Ben Warthan of Houston; one sister, Helene Wilson of Avery; and three grandchildren: Kimberly Martin, Kara Martin and Michael Martin, all of Irving.
