Douglass Rohre married Miss Doris Jeanne Scott on 2 August 1953 at Vernon, Texas.
The couple came to Graham, Young County, Texas on 5 May 1983 from Lubbock, Texas. Doug Rohre was the preacher at the Eastside Church of Christ in Graham at the time of his death.
Served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1949 and 1950-1954.
Doug Rohre was a member of the Rotary Club, Wing Chaplain of the Civil Air Patrol, Cancer Society.
Doug Rohre was a highly sought after evangelist. Rohre graduated from high school in San Antonio. He attended Abilene Christian College and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Bible. He later received his master of arts degree from Abilene Christian College in Bible. He attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and has taken courses at the University of Texas.
Doug Rohre moved to Olney, Texas in 1958 to serve at the new minister for the Hamilton Street Church of Christ, succeeding William O. Hall who resigned and moved to Arizona. Doug was from Canyon where he served as the director of the West Texas State College Bible Chair. At the time, he was in his 30s, married with a two year old daughter.
Funeral services were officiated by Ray Crook of MIneral Wells, former minister at Eastside Church of Christ and Al Waller of Shawnee, OK.
Survivors: wife of Graham; daughters - Susan Rohre of Irving, Sherry Watlington of Garland, sisters - Ethel Hester of San Antonio, Virginia Ware of Cuero, brother - Walter Rohre of Denton; two grandchildren.
