Frances Joy Lawrence, age 92, of Mount Vernon, passed away in the mid-afternoon hours of Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Healthcare in Mount Pleasant. Frances was born on August 19, 1922 in Franklin County, Texas to the late Jesse and Ola Rich Bolin. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1940. After high school, Frances met and married the love of her life and best friend, Jack Linden Lawrence. After more than 40 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories, Jack preceded her in death in 1993.Frances was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member attending services whenever the doors were open and many times carrying food and dessert for any church function. Frances enjoyed cooking and was especially good at cooking pies. She worked various jobs in her life but her greatest joy came from being a homemaker and raising her beloved children. Frances is survived by three sons, Mike Lawrence of Franklin County, Jimmie Lawrence, and wife Sylvia, of Cookville, and Jeffery Lawrence of Cookville; one daughter, Judy Johnson of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Casey Lawrence, and wife Melissa, Michael Lawrence, Ricky Bennett, Amy Lawrence, Christie Lawrence, Jamie Sealy, and husband Chris, Sarah Carroll, Angela Campbell, and husband John, Christopher Johnson, and wife Brandy, and Clayton Johnson; one sister-in-law, Mary Bolin of Mount Vernon; and by a host of great-grandchildren and other relatives and very special friends.Frances was also preceded in death by one brother, Velvin Bolin, and by two sisters, Artel Ross and Mildred Davis.Services for Frances “Aunt Polly” Lawrence will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Brother Troy Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Macon Cemetery with Tommy Baugh, John Campbell, Christopher Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Casey Lawrence, and Omer Miller serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday evening at the funeral home.
