Services for Henry B. Shamburger, Jr., 86, Arp, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, March 20 at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Doctor Charles Paschall officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Mr. Shamburger died Thursday, March 18, 2010, in an Overton nursing home. He was born October 10, 1923 in Mansfield, Louisiana to the late Henry B. Shamburger, Sr. and Mattie Ann Sempe Shamburger. He had been a resident of the Arp/Overton area since 1962.
Mr. Shamburger was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps as a navigator.
He retired from the oil industry and was an avid wood worker.
Mr. Shamburger was a member of the First Baptist Church, Overton where he served as a Deacon.
Mr. Shamburger married Jacqueline Smith, May 16, 1946, in Mooringsport, Louisiana.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Shamburger, Arp; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry B. Shamburger, III and Melinda Shamburger, Whitehouse and Steve and Suzanne Shamburger, Killeen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Janet Shamburger, Carthage, and Glen and Shirley Shamburger, Whitehouse; grandchildren, Shay Shamburger, Shelley Barnette, Garrett Shamburger, Breanne Hull, Alyssa Johnson, and Josh Shamburger; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernon Brown, Wayne Lacy, Dr. Jim Hamilton, Lawrence Vaughan, Bill Wall, Bill Steere, Clifford Steele, and R.H. Bedair.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, March 19.

OBITUARY
Graveside services for Jacqueline Shamburger, 85, Arp, are scheduled for 2:30 pm, Tuesday, November 26 at the Overton City Cemetery with Chaplin Jim Welch officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mrs. Shamburger died Saturday, November 23, 2013, in Tyler. She was born August 19, 1928 in Mooringsport, Louisiana to the late Clifford and Gertha Ware Smith. She had been a resident of the Arp/Overton area since 1962 and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Overton.
Mrs. Shamburger married Henry B. Shamburger, Jr. May 16, 1946, in Mooringsport, Louisiana and he preceded her in death March 18, 2010. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Smith, two sisters, Calista Milford and Judy Hatch.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry B. Shamburger, III and Melinda Shamburger, Whitehouse and Steve and Suzanne Shamburger, Killeen; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Janet Shamburger, Carthage, and Glen and Shirley Shamburger, Whitehouse; grandchildren, Shay Shamburger, Shelley Barnette, Garrett Shamburger, Breanne Hull, Alyssa Johnson, and Josh Shamburger; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Monday, November 25.
