Services for Harry Truman Propes, 82, of New London were held aat 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, at First Presbyterian Church of Overton with Rev. Bill Baker officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near New London under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton.
Mr. Propes died April 7 in a Tyler hospital.
He was born April 19, 1916 in Minden to the late Virgil Harry and Sarah Winfrey Propes. He served in World War II and was in both the Army and Navy. He was a retired building contractor and longtime resident of the New London-Overton area. He attended First Presbyterian Church of Overton and was a charter member of Overton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9185.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gettys Owens Propes in 1996; brothers, Wilbur Propes and Donald Propes.
Survivors include son, Bill Propes, Mesquite; daughter, Mary Sue Cole of Point; brother, Elton Propes of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister Amilee Haire of Shreveport, La.; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
If desired, memorials may be made to Gettys Propes Memorial Fund, care of First Presbyterian Church of Overton.
