Fred Heflin, 86, of Hereford, a farmer, died Oct. 3, 2001, at the Hereford Care Center.
He was born May 19, 1915, in Hopkin County, Texas, to Joe and Dovie Heflin.
He married Gladys Leola Carter on March 27, 1937, in Hale County, Texas.
He moved to Hereford in 1994 from Granbury, Texas. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Hereford.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Betty Hodge of Hereford, and Troy Woolsey of San Antonio; one brother, J. B. Heflin of Plainview; four sisters, Doris Borum of Lubbock, Emma Jean Hopkins of Houstin, Vivian Carmickael of Abernathy, Texas, and Ida Nell Massey of Winnsboro, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. (CDT) on Firday at Temple Baptist Church in Hereford.
Rev. H. W. Bartlett will officiate.
Burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford.

HEREFORD - Gladys Leola Heflin, 95, died Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford with Dr. Donald Proctor, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Heflin was born March 24, 1916, in Jacksboro to John and Annie Baggett Carter. She married her sweetheart, Fred Heflin on March 27, 1937, in Hale County.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Hodge of Hereford; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
