May 7, 1907 - Oct. 21, 1998t, 91, lifelong local resident, died Wednesday in a Stephenville hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Harrell Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Barbee Cemetery in Erath County.
Mrs. Tackett was born in Shiloh in Erath County and was a homemaker. She also worked as a secretary for many years at Laural Street Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of County Home Demonstration Club. She also was a member of Purvis Quilting Club and Laural Street Methodist Church and was the widow of James Elder Tackett, whom she married in 1925 in Dublin.
Survivors include one daughter, Madge Ply of Mesquite; two sons, Wyndel Tackett of Athens, Texas, and Dr. Jesse Tackett of Stephenville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Barbee Cemetery Association or Laural Street Methodist Church
