Graveside services for Mrs. Letha Belle Smith, age 89 of Clyde, Texas will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Officiating will be Bro. Gene Owen. Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006 in Clyde Nursing Home. She was born on December 11, 1916 in Peacock, Texas, the daughter of the late A.M. and Cora Duke Griffin. Mrs. Smith was married to John E. Smith on October 28, 1933 in Abilene, he preceded her in death. She was a Homemaker and ran snack bars for the commission of the blind. They lived most of their married life in Abilene then in Clyde, after retirement they spent the winters in Texarkana. In the late 70's she wrote and published a book about the Smith family, "Blood Is Thicker Than Prejudice."

She is survived by her children Mary E. Roberts & husband Kenneth Eugene of Clyde; Cora Jean Karst of San Antonio; John E. Smith of Lake Coleman; Virginia Freeman of Tallahassee, FL and David P. & wife Andrea of Texarkana. 8-Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
