Sept. 24, 1915 - Oct. 6, 2010
Inscription:
"Aug. 14, 1935"
DUBLIN - Wilma Loree Gilbreath Miller died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, in Fort Worth. She was 95.
Graveside service: was Friday in Barbee Cemetery in Edna Hill.
Memorials: May be made to the Barbee Cemetery Association.
Loree was born Sept. 24, 1915, to Gustine and Kate Gilbreath in Edna Hill near Dublin. She married Fred H. Miller on Aug. 14, 1935. They were the parents of three children, Marihelen, Freddie Beth and Dan. The Millers lived in several communities in Texas, where Fred was a public school superintendent and Loree was a school librarian. After 63 years of marriage Fred died in 1999.
Loree was first of all a wonderful mother and homemaker. She supported all her children's school and church activities. She was a beautiful seamstress, and her home was a welcoming and nurturing environment for her family. Her grandchildren will cherish the hours that they spent with her, always benefiting from her wise council.
In addition to raising a family and working at school, Loree developed an avid interest in genealogy. She continued this interest until a few weeks prior to her death when she gave a lecture to her genealogy group at Broadway Plaza where she had resided since 2006. She was a member of the Mary Isham Keith Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her work has been published in several books and "The Red Tower," a publication of Clan Galbraith which she had been affiliated with since 1982.
Survivors: Loree is survived by her three children, Marihelen Hickey and her beloved companion, German Moreno, Freddie Beth Bayne and husband, Jim, Dan Gilbreath and wife, Ginger; her grandchildren, Melinda Cox and husband, Paul, David Hickey, Elizabeth and Eric Bayne, Melissa Miller, Dan Miller Jr. and Jacklyn Miller; her great-grandchildren, Emily and Allie Cox, Delaney Lattimer and husband, David, Joseph Ashley and Matthew Bayne. She was also survived by three brothers, T.E. Gilbreath and wife, Willa, Gene Gilbreath and wife, Maxine, Harrell J. Gilbreath; and her sister, Virginia Ann Gilbreath.
