Sue Yandle Rodgers, daughter of W.A. and Mary (Vise) Yandle, was born in Henderson, Texas, August 11, 1928, and passed away July 4, 2008, in Tyler, Texas.

Sue was a 1945 graduate of Henderson High School. Following high school, she attended Kilgore Junior College and went on to get her bachelor's degree and her master's degree in elementary education from Stephen F. Austin State University.

As a young girl, Sue professed her faith in Jesus Christ and for many years and was united with the First Baptist Church of Henderson, where she was a member of the Radio Bible Sunday school class and very active in her church.

For 20 years, she taught 6th grade reading for the Henderson Independent School District. She was a member of the Rusk County Retired Teachers Association and a big supporter of the Henderson Education Foundation. She was also very active in the Rusk County AARP. During her free time, she loved playing games and reading. She was also an avid dog lover.

Sue is survived by her two children, Stan and Connie Rodgers and Stacey and Mike Sullivan of Henderson; two grandchildren, Lauren Sullivan and Tonya Griffin; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Stephens and Zach Stephens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Ethel Wade.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Henderson, with Bro. Bill Tisdale and Bro. Robert Hall officiating. Music will be by Greg and Beth Hall and Sandy Siler. Interment will follow in Crim's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Stephens, Kevin Fullen, Kenneth Keeling, Buzz Fullen, George Conway and Broc Butler.
