uneral services for John Alston O'Pry, 87, an Electra oil operator and drilling contractor, were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the First Christian Church.
The Rev. Victor Hershiser, pastor officiated. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of James B.Totten and Son Funeral Home.
He was born January 8, 1892, and had resided in Electra some 47 years. A member of the Electra Masonic Lodge, and the First Christian Church, he died Sunday morning in a Wichita Falls hospital following a lengthy illness.
A daughter, Mary Alston Gibson, preceded him in death in 1961.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; a brother, Elbert O'Pry of Mexia; a half-brother, Gordon O'Pry of Knox City; a half sister, Mrs. Joe Fields, and two granddaughters, Mary Louise Gibson and Donna Gibson, both of Electra._
