Final rites for William Richard Palmer, 71, who died Oct. 1st, were held Friday, Oct. 4th in First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Gresham, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of Totten-Day Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1913 in Mangum, Oklahoma, son of the late William and Saphrona Parker Palmer. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He had lived most of his life in Electra and was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Knights of Pythias Lodge.

He married Wiloa Beisch Sept. 22, 1934 in St. Johns, Ariz.

Survivors include: his wife, Wiloa Palmer of Electra; three sons, William Richard Palmer of El Paso, Robert Lee Palmer of Iowa Park and Larry Glen Palmer of Burkburnett; a daughter, Elaine Hibbitts of Midland; two brothers, Lee Roy Palmer of Burkburnett and James Robert Palmer of Houston; a sister, Mary Ruth Dyler of Arlington; two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were nephews, Elmer Beisch, Lee Beisch, Bill Mitchell, Dewayne McClinton, Harold Clemons, Ervin Beisch, Lawrence Beisch and Dewain Washington._

Wilhelmina Elizabeth "Wilda" Palmer, 86, died Monday, Au­gust 28, 2000. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Au­gust 31, from First Baptist Church of Electra with the Rev. Jack Riley, pastor, and the Rev. Charles Nichols, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, Wi­chita Falls, officiating. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park. Mrs. Palmer was born June 20, 1914 in Laverne, Okla­homa. She attended Deep Creek and Iowa Park Schools. On Sept. 22, 1934 she married Richard Palmer in St. Johns, Arizona. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was a resident of Elec­tra for 54 years and an active member of the First Nazarene Church for many years. Begin­ning in the early 1970's she was active in the First Baptist Church of Electra, participat­ing in Book of Books and WMU. She was preceded in death by her four brothers: Early, Lee, Claude and Clarence Beisch. Survivors include a daugh­ter, Elaine Hibbits and hus­band, Don, of Midland; three sons, William Richard and wife, Elizabeth, of El Paso; Robert Lee and wife, Dorothy of Iowa Park, and Larry Glen and wife, Brenda, of Bowie; two sisters, Nina McClinton and husband, Fonzy, of Olney, and Ethel Washington of Rowlett, Texas; four grandchil­dren: Sheila Bland, Dr. Bruce Palmer, Will Palmer and Katy Palmer, and one great grand­daughter, Kali Bland. Memorials may be made to the Electra First Baptist Church WMU, 406 West Garrison, Electra. The family was at Dutton Funeral Home of Elec­tra from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30._
