Funeral services for Joe Homer Baker, 77, newspaper carrier here for a number of years, were held at 2 p. m. Monday from the Chapel of James B. Totten & Son Funeral Home.
The Rev. Miles Graham, pastor of First Christian Church, officiated. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park.
Baker was the son of the late J. J. Baker who came from Ft. Worth in a covered wagon enroute to Harrold in 1890 and his wife, the former India Pugh, who came to Wilbarger County from Kentucky.
Born June 5,1895, in Harrold, Homer was reared on a farm near Crowell and later on a farm four miles southwest of Electra. He had resided in Electra for 40 years.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. S. E. Byrd of Kamay, Mrs. lone Holland of Amarillo, Texas and Mrs. Marguerite Simpkins of Newport Beach, Calif., three brothers. Burton of Bakersfield Calif., Earl of Oildale, Calif., and Bill of Wichita Falls; and 19 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews._
