Final rites for Robert Oliver Bates, 77, who died December 19th in Electra Memorial Hospital were held Saturday, December 22nd at 2 p.m. in Totten-Day Funeral Home with Dennis Hoff, minister of Southside Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of Totten-Day Funeral Home.
He was born May 20, 1907 in Fargo, Texas, son of the late Amos and Maude Richardson Bates. He married Nona Mae Oden October 19, 1934 in Walters, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 1983.
He had lived in Electra for about 65 years and was a member of Southside Church of Christ and retired maintenance superintendent of Electra Independent School District.
Survivors include: three daughters, Bobbie Babbitt and Wanda Bridges, both of Electra and Betty Jo Mitchell of San Antonio; a sister, Alma Bates of Electra; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren._

Final rites for Nona Mae Bates, 70, who died Mar 30th in Electra Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, April 2nd at 2 p.m. in Southside Church of Christ with John Dunahoe, minister, officiating. Interment was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of Totten-Day Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bates was born Jan. 13, 1913 in Gould, Okla. She married Robert (Bob) Bates Oct. 19, 1934 in Walters, Okla. She had lived in Electra for the past 50 years and was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her husband, Bob of Electra; two daughters, Bobbi Babbitt of Electra and Wanda Bridges of Wichita Falls; a step-daughter, Betty Jo Mitchell of San Antonio; a brother, Louis Oden of Burkburnett; a sister, Leota Chesher of Electra; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Frankie Nelson, O.D. McGowan, Bill Lee, Leon Brown, Don Rowe, and Thomas Daugherty._
