Funeral Services for Gilbert Beebe, 61, who died January 25 in Iowa Park were held Wednesday January 28 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Gresham, officiating. Interment was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of Totten Day Funeral Home.

He was born September 28, 1925, in Electra and was married to Mae Deene Nason February 8, 1947 in Electra. He had lived in Electra most of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church, Deacon, brotherhood, R.A's. Masonic Lodge #64 Dundee Past Worshipful Master and was in the Marines WWII.

Survivors include: his wife, Mae Deene Beebe of Electra; Three daughters, Debra Morton of Quanah, Texas, Janice Carter of Electra, and Brenda Beebe of Vernon; Three brothers, Don Beebe of Oklahoma City, Okla., Leon Beebe of Mineral Wells, and Joe Beebe of Wichita Falls; One sister, Naomi Chapman of Garland, Texas._

Mae Deene Nason Beebe, age 79, of Electra, Texas, passed away Thursday evening, January 7, 2010 in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Services were held at 2 p m Monday, January 11, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Bob Webb, Pastor Emeritus of Hillside Baptist Church, officiating Interment followed in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Aulds Funeral Home.

Mae Deene was born January 25, 1930 in Electra, Texas to Samuel Berlin Nason Sr and Alta Mae Rutherford Nason.

She and Gilbert L Beebe were married February 8, 1947 in Electra, Texas He preceded her in death on January 25, 1987.

Mrs Beebe was a lifelong resident of Electra with the exception of about seven years when she lived in Holliday, Texas She graduated as Salutatorian of the Class of 1947 from Harrold, Texas She was employed as the Library Aid at Electra High School while she pursued her further education She graduated from Midwestern State University Suma Cum Laude with her degree in Integrated Political Science with a minor in Art She returned to Midwestern and received her certification in Special Education and taught at Electra High School until her retirement in 1994 She was a member of the Academic Fraternitv Alpha Chi Omega She founded a youth singing group in the late 1960's known as the Young Folk consisting of Electra High School students that performed at numerous community events She also taught choir and piano to the area youth.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church and Hillside Baptist Church here she taught Sunday School, sang in a choir, and played piano and organ.

She was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Holliday, Texas Her hobbies included art and making crafts.

Survivors include three daughters, Debra Deene Morton and husband Stevie Don of Quanah. Texas, Janice Deane Beebe Carter of Electra, Brenda Lavern Beebe of Vernon, three sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Nason of Wichita Falls, Texas, Naomi Chapman of Garland, Texas and Lou Ann Beebe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one brother in law, Joe Beebe and wife, Wanda of Holliday, Texas, five grandchildren, Nicole Jeane-Marie Morton of Quanah, Texas, Ashley Anne Carter of Electra, Jacob Scan Morton of Quanah, Texas, Kehra Mae-Marie Carter of Electra, Dr Ryan M Denney and wife Carolyn of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Harold Nason, and her son-in-law. Rick Carter.

Serving as pallbearers were Joe Casey. Billy Don Clark, Ray Dillard. Marvin Holmes, Roger Lankford and Neal Owens
