Mrs. Rollin Bennett a resident of Electra for over 50 years and owner of a dressmaking shop for almost the same period, died Saturday, Jan 11, in Hillcrest Haven, Electra.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Mississippi in 1880. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Electra where the services were held Monday, January 13, with the pastor, Rev. Alfred Dorsett, officiating.
Burial was in Electra Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Hollis Sullivan, Ralph Delashaw, Don Abbott, Ray B. Dichey, Ed Hart and Bill Robb.
Survivors include a son, Don Garner of Bell, California; a sister, Mrs. Jim Hale of Grand Prairie; a brother, Arthur Turner of Dallas; a granddaughter, Mrs. Donna Moen of Narwalk, California; a nephew, A.M. Slaughter who was raised as a son of Gainesville, Texas; four nephews, Howard Hale of Grand Prairie, Bruce Slaughter of Fort Worth, and James Hale and John hale of Grand Prairie; a niece, Mrs. R.A. Ellis of Grand Prairie, and a cousin, Miss Lena Smith of Electra._
