Funeral services for Jessie Franklin Bullard, 78, retired area peace officer, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home.

Officiating were the Rev. William G. Etheredge, pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Ed Miller, minister of First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park.

Born December 2, 1893, in Wapanucka, Oklahoma, Bullard came to Electra about 1952 from Paducah and served as constable of Precinct Four, Wichita County, about nine and a half years before retiring January 1, 1968.

In Paducah he was city marshall and deputy sheriff 19 years. Prior to becoming a peace officer he was an employee of the Burnet and Waggoner ranches almost 25 years. He died Thursday night, June 3, at his home here.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. C.J. Cohron of Electra, and two grandchildren._

Mrs. Ethel Maude Bullard, 70, a resident of Electra for 19 years, died Wednesday at her home here.

She was born January 16, 1898, in Oswego, Kansas. Mrs. Bullard and her husband, Frank Bullard, retired Wichita County Precinct four Constable, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary here May 20, 1967.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the chapel of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Ira Thompson, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Electra Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Frankie Cohron, Electra; one brother, B. Blevins of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and one sister, Mrs. Sam Martindale of Modesto, California._
