Gloria Hancock Mills, 58 years old, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan, Texas. Gloria was the second-born child to Darriell and Joyce (Laningham) Hancock on February 27, 1954 in Gilmer, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jerry Hancock and David Hancock. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Gladewater and graduated from Gladewater High School. She married her high school sweetheart, James "Sandy" Mills. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gladewater, Tx. As the matriarch of her family, Gloria was a strong and spiritual woman, and her proudest accomplishment was raising her son. She was a people person and always had a smile on her face. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending Gladewater football games, being a substitute teacher and had a great passion for shopping. She is survived by her loving son, Craig Mills and wife Sharon; grandchildren Shannon Morrison and Dereck Mills; great-granddaughter Amaya Morrison all of Bryan; sisters Debra Livingston and husband Marty of Antioch, Ca, Pam Latus and husband Jon of Forney, Tx; brothers Ronald Hancock and wife Sonya of Hemet, Ca; Darriell Hancock of Gladewater, Tx, and several nephews, nieces and relatives. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7pm on Sunday, September 30th at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Gladewater at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 1st with Reverend Ellis Hayden, Reverend Weldon Jones, and Larry W. Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery.
