Memorial services for Jesse James Fussell, 91, of Kilgore are set for 10:00 am Monday, January 17, 2011 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Mr. Leon Bates officiating. Mr. Fussell passed away January 9, 2011 at his home in Kilgore.
Jesse James Fussell was born December 12, 1919 in Henderson, Tx to Henry and Emma Fussell. He served in the US Army earning the American Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After serving in the military he worked as an oilfield mechanic for many years and later retired from the oilfield. Mr. Fussell was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Fussell is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Fussell, son, James "Jim" Fussell and brother, Elbert Fussell.
Survivors include close friend, Mary Tomlin, Kilgore; brother, Jerry Don Fussell, Goodsprings, Tx; sister, Faye Bingle, Riverside, CA; granddaughters, Christy O'Rear, Longview and Tina Walls, Kilgore; grandson in-law David Walls, Kilgore; great-grandchildren, Ronnie and Jesse Strong of Longview, Kadie Wren of Kilgore and Josie and Lexie Walls of Kilgore; nieces, Becky Tittle of Liberty City, and Amanda May of Tyler; nephew, Nathan Fussell of Palestine as well as 9 great-nieces and nephews.
