Graveside services for James "Bill" Smith, 78, of Gladewater, will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013, at 2 P.M. at Rock Springs Cemetery with Dennis Abernathy officiating.

Born on February 19, 1935, in Gladewater, Texas, he died on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a cabinet builder and a member of the North Main Church of Christ.

He is survived by three brothers, J. O. Smith of Longview; Wayne Smith of Gladewater; and David Smith of Gladewater; one sister, Hazel Pullen of Union Grove; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Lena Alta Smith; two sisters, Martha Ann Smith and Louise Madden; two brothers, James Glenn Smith and Dean Smith.

Pallbearers will be Terry Smith, James Smith, Tom Kallis, Greg Madden, Wayne Allen Smith, and Dwayne Pullen.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater
