Gladewater ~ Graveside services for Franklin “Pops” Walker, 81, of Gladewater, Texas will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Rock Springs Cemetery with Larry W. Osborne officiating. “Pops” passed on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Gladewater. His services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home.
Franklin Roosevelt Walker was born to William Pinkney Walker, Sr. and Mary Bell Spears Walker on January 22, 1934 in Streetman, Texas. He was a graduate of Union Grove High School and a resident of Gladewater for most of his life. Franklin met and married his sweet heart, Rachel Walker. He retired from Letourneau after 25 years working in the Heat Treat Department. He also served as a volunteer Firefighter.
Mr. Walker is survived by his sons, Ronald Clive Walker of Kilgore and Allen Walker of Gladewater; daughters, Frankie Michelle Floyd of Longview and Frances Rachelle Jones of Overton; sisters, Letrice Callaway of Houston and Jewel Faye Stevenson of Dallas and eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Walker, his brothers and his parents.
Visitation will be at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
