ANNA TERESA RAYMOND
GLADEWATER ? Services for Anna Teresa Raymond, 82, of Liberty City, were at
10 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in
Rock Springs Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of
Gladewater.
Born to Giovanni Spierto and Giuseppena Valletta in Umbria Region of
Southern Italy.
She was raised in Caserta, where she met and maried her American Soldier,
George M. Raymond on December 10, 1944.
As a young Mother of her first born, she moved to Gladewater, Texas, the
hometown of her husband?s family. In 1956, she moved to her current homesite
in Liberty City.
Mrs. Raymond was well known as a seamstress. She fashioned and completed
many formal dresses for proms, weddings, etc., as ell as basic garment
construction and alterations. She also pieced many beautiful quilts.
Mrs. Raymond is survived by a son Carrol Raymond of Liberty City; a daughter
Rossie Kirkland of Tyler; a brother Robert Spierto of Florence, Italy;
grandchildren Tony Raymond, wife and family, Chris Raymond, wife and family,
Gina Knight, husband and family, Brian Raymond and son, Steven Raymond, all
of Liberty City, Kenneth May and wife, Michael May and Anna May, all of
Tyler; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and their families, all of
Italy; and her husband?s nieces and nephews of surrounding East Texas area.
Visitaiton was Monday, April 26, 2004 at Croley Funeral Home.
JIMMY ALLEN
Services for Jimmy Allen, 66, of Tyler were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April
27, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Rev. Brian
Porr officiating. Burial was in the Rusk County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died Saturday afternoon at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler.
He was born May 30, 1937, in Laird Hill, Texas, the son of the late Harlan
and Edith Allen. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Kelly
Springfield Tire Company after working 35 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra D. Allen of Tyler and Vickie Allen
Hill of Austin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris LaRoux and Shirley
and Dan Platt all of Kilgore; and a brother and sister-in-law; Jerry and
Sandra K. Allen of Garland; a special uncle Sonny Hedrick and his wife
Peggy; two grandchildren, Joshua Dale Allen and Taylor Lynn Allen, both of
Tyler; and several nieces, nephews and other loving family.
The family received friends at the funeral home Monday night.
Pallbearers for the service were: Kenneth LaRoux, Randy Platt, Lee Riggs,
Rodney Kinard, Sonny Hedrick and Dan Platt.
