Services for Kenneth Erwin Whatley, 72, of Liberty City, Texas, were held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Wells officiating. Burial followed at Rock Springs Cemetery in Liberty City.

Kenneth was born in Longview on October 2, 1939 and went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2012.

He loved the Lord, was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty City and also a resident of Liberty City for the past 40 years. He was such a friendly and loving man. He adored his wife of 49 years and he loved spending time with his family and his friends. Kenneth was also known as Papa named by his grandchildren. He was a big Dallas Cowboy fan that never missed a game. He worked for Smith International and retired after 21 years.

He is survived by his wife Gloria Whatley of Liberty City; his daughter Karrie Langston; sons and daughter-in-law Tommy and Kim Whatley and Cody Whatley; grandchildren Sara and Lance Skinner, Alexis Whatley, Emilee Whatley and Bailey Whatley; great grandchild Noah Skinner; brother Darrell Whatley and his wife Jeannine; mother-in-law Florence Claxton and brother-in-law Mike Claxton; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
