CARPENTER, VELTA CLYDE “RED” July 2, 1931 – July 10, 2011

Velta Clyde “Red” Carpenter, 80, of Omaha, Texas, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, in a local hospital. Mr. Carpenter was born July 2, 1931 in Morris County, Texas. He was employed with Red River Army Depot. Survivors include his wife Tribah Carpenter of Omaha, four sons, Kelvin Carpenter and Roland Carpenter of Mount Pleasant, TX, Paul Carpenter of Canton, TX, and Marlin Carpenter of Monument, CO; one daughter Trina Carpenter of Nobi, MI; 2 brothers, James Carpenter of Naples, TX and Lynn Carpenter of Minneapolis; one sister, Pauline Barfield of Texarkana; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Burial was in Concord Cemetery, Omaha, TX. (SoSec N Row 2, Lot 8)
